Maxwell Russell Jackson
Maxwell Russell Jackson joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1941 at the age of 17. He began training to become a Marine Engineer in Galt, Ontario & later in Victoria, British Columbia. He finished training at the University of Alberta in May, 1944 and joined HMCS Port Arthur for convoy duty in the English Channel. He returned home in May of 1945. He spoke fondly of his wartime experiences and related them to his desire to study engineering. He did so at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario where he graduated with degrees in Mechanical and Stationary engineering in 1950.
