Henry W. MacDonald
Harry enlisted with the Royal Canadian Regiment in Ottawa on October 16, 1952. In 1953, he was assigned to 2nd RCR (Royal Canadian Regiment) in London. He completed his paratrooper training Rivers Manitoba receiving his jump wings at only 19 years of age , at which time he became part of the elite Mobile Strike Force. He served with the 1st RCR in Soest, Germany from 1955 to 1957, Ipperwash from 1957 to 1959, and then joined the PT Cadre (later known as PERI) as a Physical Training Instructor. Harry was stationed at Camp Borden with the RCS of I (Royal Canadian School of Infantry) where he was promoted to Warrant Officer; served with the Service Corp School; and at the Billy Bishop Centre. He was further posted to CFB Esquimalt in Victoria, to RMC in Kingston and retired from Kinston after faithfully served our country for 23 years.
