Frederick W. Tassie - 811863

Frederick William Tassie enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force June 22, 1942, in Toronto, at 18 years of age. He received his basic training in St. Thomas for ground crew, graduating as a Leading Aircraftman. He was assigned to 426 Squadron, and was posted to St. Thomas ON, Brantford ON, Halifax NS, Dishforth UK, Linton-on-Ouse UK, and to France and Holland. He was discharged from service on January 16, 1946.

Frederick was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star, Defense Medal, Victory Medal, and the Holland Medal.
