Dewi Morgan
Dewi Morgan served with the Royal Air Force during the Second World War from his enlistment in 1941. He served in Wales, the UK and in Delhi, India, as a codes and ciphers expert throughout the duration of the war. Family tells a story that Dewi was very fortunate at the end of the war. When the war was declared over, Dewi exchanged his ticket so he could go and explore more of India for a day or two. That decision saved his life as the boat he was supposed to travel home on went down and there were no survivors.
Dewi received the 1939-1945 Star, the Burma Star, the Defence Medal and the 1939-1945 War Medal.
