Brian Bainbridge

Brian Bainbridge joined the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME) soldier apprentice program at 16 years of age in 1958. He served as a Vehicle Technician until 1963. After attending Ryerson University for a year, he then joined the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) in 1964 and became a pilot. Brian flew DC3’s until 1968 and then flew Trackers off the Bonaventure until 1971. He was then posted to Cold Lake, Alberta where he flew Fighter planes until 1975. His next posting was to Baden, Germany and the CF104 (Widowmaker). Brian returned to Canada in 1981 and joined the 400 Squadron and flew helicopters in RV ‘81.

After his retirement from military life, he began his civilian career beginning with Ward Air, followed by Air France flying the A320 Air Bus.

Brian passed away from a brain tumour in 2001.
