Bill Orser
Bill Orser served with the Royal Regiment of Canada during the Second World War. He was a veteran of the Dieppe Raid, which took place on August 19, 1942. Along with over 1950 other soldiers, Bill was taken as a prisoner of war during the raid. He was held in captivity in prisoner of war camp, Stalag VIIIB in Northern Germany for the remainder of the war. In 1945 he was liberated after running away from the forced long wintertime marches that the prisoners were made to endure at the end of the war. We Will Remember Them
